On Saturday I presented The Weekend Intelligence. That is the Saturday edition of the Economist’s daily podcast. Whereas Monday to Friday, the Intelligence is a short pithy news podcast, on Saturday, we run 45-50 minute documentaries.
Mine is about DOGE, and how it has affected government workers of all sorts. It was an awful lot of work - my producer and I did half a dozen lengthy interviews, filtered through dozens of hours of material I had already gathered, and turned it into a script. But having got through the cringe of listening to my own voice, I am very happy with it.
